Jerome Burrowes: Division Manager
Jerome began his career straight out of high school in 2015, joining Atkar’s parent company as a Junior Project Coordinator. He quickly took on part-time roles in estimating and project management for Atkar, eventually moving into a full-time position in 2018. In 2024, he stepped into the role of Division Manager.
One of his proudest milestones came on May 7, 2021, when he earned his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification — a goal he worked hard to achieve. Jerome’s approach to leadership is rooted in clear communication, summed up by his philosophy: “Bad news is better than no news — just keep communicating.”
Originally from Victoria, BC, Jerome has Jamaican roots and a love for remote places — the furthest north he’s traveled is Mayo, Yukon, just shy of the Arctic Circle. When he’s not working, he enjoys hiking or kayaking in the wilderness, preferably far from cell service.
His favourite meal is Jamaican food (with Mexican and East Indian as close seconds), and he’s always up for a smoky single malt Scotch. Also, he is definitely not sarcastic... at all.
